SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lydia Frances Krueger of Illinois City,
4who passed away on December 11, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frances Krueger was born in Illinois City to
6Arthur A. and Jessie B. Bendle Mewes on July 19, 1919; she
7attended The Juilliard School of Music in California; she
8served her country in the Women's Army Corps as a medical
9technician during World War II; she entertained patients by
10playing her accordion over the radio and on the medical units;
11she married John William Krueger in Muscatine on November 28,
121948; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Frances Krueger drove a school bus for Rockridge
14for 15 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Frances Krueger was a member of the Illinois City
16United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ
17for over 50 years; after moving to Sunnybrook, she continued to
18provide Sunday church music to the residents; her daughters,
19grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the loves of her
20life; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Frances Krueger was preceded in death by her

1husband, John; her parents; and her brother, LeRoy Mewes; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Frances Krueger is survived by her daughters,
3Linda C. (Thomas) Karge and Kathleen L. (Gary) Potter; her five
4grandchildren; and her 12 great-grandchildren; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Lydia Frances Krueger and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Frances Krueger as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
