| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joseph John "Joe" Triolo of Zion, who | 4 | | passed away on January 11, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joe Triolo was born in Wilkinson, West Virginia to | 6 | | John Sr. and Mary (Azzer) Triolo on March 3, 1920; he grew up | 7 | | in West Virginia and was raised in a coal mining community; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Joe Triolo joined the United States Navy and was | 9 | | aboard the USS Tangier in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941; he | 10 | | had a 21-year career with the Navy, retiring as a Chief | 11 | | Boatswain's Mate; he enrolled in Lake Forest College at the age | 12 | | of 38 and received a bachelor's degree; he furthered his | 13 | | studies at Roosevelt University; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Joe Triolo taught and was a counselor for 21 years | 15 | | for the North Chicago School District; and | 16 | | WHEREAS, Joe Triolo and his wife always believed in the | 17 | | power of education and made significant donations to various | 18 | | colleges and community organizations; and | 19 | | WHEREAS, Joe Triolo was preceded in death by his parents; | 20 | | an infant son; his brothers, Melvin "Mel", Tony, and John |

| 1 | | Triolo Jr.; and his sisters, Catherine and Helen Triolo; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Joe Triolo is survived by his wife of 63 years, | 3 | | Katherine (Despot) and his sister, Angeline Triolo; therefore, | 4 | | be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Joseph John "Joe" Triolo, and extend our sincere condolences to | 8 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Joe Triolo as an expression of our | 12 | | deepest sympathy.
