SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George C. Still of Prophetstown, who passed away on January 19, 2018; and

WHEREAS, George Still was born in Clinton, Iowa to Joseph and Catherine (Owens) Still on May 17, 1933; he served in the United States Marine Corps and married Dorothy Mae Durbin in Quartzsite, Arizona on December 21, 1952; and

WHEREAS, George Still was a paint maker for the Valspar Chemical Coating Company; and

WHEREAS, George Still was a member of the American Legion, the Fulton Saddle Club, and the Illinois State Stock Horse Association, where they went on 100 mile trail rides; he loved going to auctions, flower gardening, traveling, and horseback riding; and

WHEREAS, George Still was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his siblings, Joseph and Paul Still, Beatrice Gilmore, and his infant twin brother, Eugene Matthew Still; and

WHEREAS, George Still is survived by his children, Kenneth (Cindy) Still, Mikel Still, Tonya Still, and Laura (Durk) Fogle; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his nieces, Cathy Akker and Susan Still; and his beloved dog, Mr. Murphy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George C. Still, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Still as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
