SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George C. Still of Prophetstown, who
4passed away on January 19, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George Still was born in Clinton, Iowa to Joseph
6and Catherine (Owens) Still on May 17, 1933; he served in the
7United States Marine Corps and married Dorothy Mae Durbin in
8Quartzsite, Arizona on December 21, 1952; and
 
9    WHEREAS, George Still was a paint maker for the Valspar
10Chemical Coating Company; and
 
11    WHEREAS, George Still was a member of the American Legion,
12the Fulton Saddle Club, and the Illinois State Stock Horse
13Association, where they went on 100 mile trail rides; he loved
14going to auctions, flower gardening, traveling, and horseback
15riding; and
 
16    WHEREAS, George Still was preceded in death by his wife,
17Dorothy; his siblings, Joseph and Paul Still, Beatrice Gilmore,
18and his infant twin brother, Eugene Matthew Still; and
 
19    WHEREAS, George Still is survived by his children, Kenneth
20(Cindy) Still, Mikel Still, Tonya Still, and Laura (Durk)

1Fogle; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his
2nieces, Cathy Akker and Susan Still; and his beloved dog, Mr.
3Murphy; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6George C. Still, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of George Still as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
