SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Henry Nell Stromberg of Moline, who
4passed away on February 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Henry Stromberg was born in Jefferson, Georgia to
6Emma Kathleen Couch and Ralph Silman on February 16, 1933;
7after high school, she joined the United States Air Force and
8served in the nursing division during the Korean War; she
9married Alden Stromberg in Phoenix, Arizona in 1954; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Henry Stromberg worked as a nurse's aide; she
11retired in 2002 from what is now UnityPoint Health - Trinity
12Rock Island; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Henry Stromberg always wanted to be helping others
14and donated to disabled veterans, volunteered at the
15Mississippi Valley Blood Bank, and served the hungry for many
16years; she was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Moline;
17she had many friends within the church and enjoyed going to
18lunch and being with her reunion group; she loved to read and
19enjoyed a wide variety of music and singing along to hymns; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Henry Stromberg was preceded in death by her
21husband, Alden; and

1    WHEREAS, Henry Stromberg is survived by her children and
2their spouses, D'Ann and Mike DeLap, Colleen and Jim Thews,
3Bentley and Laurie Stromberg, and Jill and Enrique Ramos; her
4grandchildren and their spouses, Andrea DeLap, Michael Eric
5DeLap, Tyler Barrett, Lindsey and Andrew Brannen, Stuart
6Stromberg, Brooke Stromberg, Jenni and Luke Serra, and Angela
7and Drew Sementa; her great-grandchildren, Ava Barrett,
8Josslyn Serra, and Caden Montgomery; and her sister, Dawn Duke;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Henry Nell Stromberg, and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Henry Stromberg as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
