| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Henry "Joe" V. VanDeWoestyne of Milan, | 4 | | who passed away on February 19, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joe VanDeWoestyne was born in Moline to Henry and | 6 | | Helen (Anderson) VanDeWoestyne on July 14, 1940; he was a | 7 | | veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam | 8 | | War; he was stationed in Germany and operated helicopters; he | 9 | | married Sandra Lovelace in Milan on September 10, 1966; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Joe VanDeWoestyne was part owner and worked at Ace | 11 | | Auto Shop before his retirement; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Joe VanDeWoestyne enjoyed spending time with his | 13 | | granddaughter and was her biggest supporter; he especially | 14 | | enjoyed attending her dance activities during her high school | 15 | | and college years; he enjoyed working on cars, watching NASCAR | 16 | | races, and collecting model cars; he was a deal maker, and one | 17 | | of his favorite activities was bargain shopping at yard sales; | 18 | | if he purchased multiples of any items, he often donated them | 19 | | to other veterans, single mothers, and friends; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Joe VanDeWoestyne was preceded in death by his | 21 | | wife, Sandra and his daughter, Stefanie VanDeWoestyne-Ruark; |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Joe VanDeWoestyne is survived by his | 3 | | granddaughter and her husband, Amanda and Brandon Laffoon; | 4 | | therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Henry "Joe" V. VanDeWoestyne and extend our sincere condolences | 8 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 9 | | it further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Joe VanDeWoestyne as an expression | 12 | | of our deepest sympathy.
