SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bernard E. "Bernie" Erickson of East
4Moline, who passed away on March 18, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bernie Erickson was born in Sherrard to Virgil and
6Eleanor Zeimer Erickson on January 11, 1933; he served in the
7U.S. Air Force during World War II and married Opal "Lucille"
8Rusk in East Moline on September 5, 1953; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bernie Erickson retired from the Case IH Plant in
10East Moline after 30 years of service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bernie Erickson enjoyed country western music and
12dancing; he also enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and spending
13time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bernie Erickson was preceded in death by his
15parents; his son, Ricky Eugene Erickson; his sister, Beverly
16Hall; and Le Roy Erickson; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Bernie Erickson is survived by his wife, Lucille;
18his son, Larry (Pam) Erickson; his grandchildren, Tarra (Ryan)
19Smith, Tanya (Dan) Roberson, and Valerie (Nathan) Fry; his
20great-grandchildren, Billy, Blake, Jacob (Emily), Breanna,

1Nickolas, Sage, Dylan, Lainee, Eric, Logan, and Isaac; his
2great-great-grandchildren, Parker, Paxton, Landon, and Jace;
3several nieces and nephews; and his dog and best buddy, Jo Jo;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Bernard E. "Bernie" Erickson, and extend our sincere
8condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
9him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Bernie Erickson as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
