SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of McCoy L. James of Port Byron, who passed
4away on March 25, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, McCoy James was born in Casa, Arkansas to Jesse O.
6and Zetta I. (McCoy) James on January 10, 1924; he was a
7veteran of the United States Army and served during World War
8II; he married Betty A. Garner in Moline on June 25, 1949; and
 
9    WHEREAS, McCoy James retired from J.I. Case as a production
10manager and general foreman after 23 years of service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, McCoy James attended Wildwood Church; he was a
12member of the East Moline American Legion Post 227 and a
13lifetime member of the Moline VFW; he was also a 32nd Degree
14Mason of the Scottish Rite and Coordinate Bodies Valley of
15Moline; and
 
16    WHEREAS, McCoy James was preceded in death by his wife,
17Betty; his son, Charles James; his brothers, Jesse O. James Jr.
18and William D. James; and his brother-in-law, Leonard Hartsock;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, McCoy James is survived by his children, Scott

1(Regina) James and Trent Stark James; his daughter-in-law, Mary
2Cannon James; his seven grandchildren; his great-grandson; his
3two great-granddaughters; his sister, Joan Hartsock; and his
4sister-in-law, Donna James; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7McCoy L. James and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of McCoy James as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
