| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Richard H. Hyde, who passed away on April | 4 | | 5, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hyde was born in Waukegan on November 24, | 6 | | 1927 and raised in Waukegan, where he was an Eagle Scout and | 7 | | Sea Scout; he graduated from Waukegan High school in 1946 and | 8 | | joined the U.S. Army Air Corp in 1946; he was discharged in | 9 | | 1949 and graduated from Bradley University in 1953; he was a | 10 | | commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and retired | 11 | | in 1977 after 22 years, achieving the rank of Colonel; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hyde was a teacher, coach, and athletic | 13 | | director for 42 years at Warren and Waukegan High Schools; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hyde was active in local politics; he was | 15 | | Park Board President, a Recreation Board member, and served on | 16 | | many other city boards; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hyde was elected Alderman of the 8th Ward | 18 | | and ultimately Mayor of the City of Waukegan, where he served | 19 | | with distinction for seven years; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Richard Hyde is survived by his wife of 63 years, |

| 1 | | Janice; his daughter, Kathleen (Alan) Lenz; his son, Jeff | 2 | | (Kathy); his daughter, Kris (Alan) Young; his son, John | 3 | | (Angela) Hyde; his son, Rick (Beth) Hyde; his grandchildren, | 4 | | Patrick Hyde, Theresa Hyde, Mary Kate Hyde, Aidan Young, Noah | 5 | | Young, Ben Young, Keira Young, Andrew Crawford, Jackson Hyde, | 6 | | Augustine Hyde, John Bosco Hyde, Anna Hyde, Claire Hyde, | 7 | | Matthew Hyde, Elizabeth Hyde, David Hyde, Daniel Hyde, and | 8 | | Jacob Hyde; and his great-grandchild, Reagan Hyde; therefore, | 9 | | be it
| 10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 12 | | Richard H. Hyde, and extend our sincere condolences to his | 13 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 14 | | further
