| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James W. "Jim" Gulliford Jr. of Forrest, | 4 | | who passed away on April 6, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Gulliford was born in Fairbury to James W. Sr. | 6 | | and Delpha Mae (Davis) Gulliford; he was educated in the | 7 | | Forrest schools; he married Joyce Doyle in Ivesdale on October | 8 | | 12, 1963; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jim Gulliford worked for Honegger Farms for eight | 10 | | years; he then went to work for Nichols Homeshield (Quanex) in | 11 | | Chatsworth, where he worked his way up to Vice President of | 12 | | Building Products before retiring in 2004; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jim Gulliford was the Village of Forrest | 14 | | President, a position he held for the last ten years; he was a | 15 | | visionary for the town, and his latest project transitioned the | 16 | | Village offices, as well as voting and all activities for | 17 | | senior citizens, to the former St. James Mission for easier | 18 | | accessibility; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Jim Gulliford served on the Board of Directors for | 20 | | Futures Unlimited in Pontiac, the Foundation Board at Gibson | 21 | | Area Hospital, and the Livingston County Economic Development |

| 1 | | Committee Board; he was a member of the Forrest Lions Club; he | 2 | | also served as the treasurer for the Forrest Historical Society | 3 | | and was instrumental in the restoration of the Hampsher Hotel | 4 | | and the Wabash Train Depot; he was a member of St. Andrew's | 5 | | Catholic Parish; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Jim Gulliford enjoyed golfing, especially with | 7 | | his father, sons, grandchildren, and his Wednesday morning | 8 | | group at Wolf Creek; he went to Arizona every year for the | 9 | | White Sox's spring training; he was interested in old | 10 | | jukeboxes, records from the 1950s and 1960s, and antique cars; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jim Gulliford was preceded in death by his | 13 | | parents; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Jim Gulliford is survived by his wife, Joyce; his | 15 | | children, Brad (Gail) Gulliford, Leslie (Pete Victoria) | 16 | | Gulliford, and Scott (Amy) Gulliford; his grandchildren, | 17 | | Derrick, Mitchell, Natalie, Nick, and Grace Gulliford; and his | 18 | | sisters, Jacque (Bob) Schrock and Debbie (Ron "Tiss") | 19 | | Steidinger; therefore, be it
