| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Clyde J. Jones of Franklin, who passed | 4 | | away on February 24, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Jones was born in Wilton Center to Marshall | 6 | | Hall and Edith Ema Elizabeth Schroeder Jones on February 8, | 7 | | 1925; he graduated from Joliet Central High School; he served | 8 | | as a navigator in the United States Air Force During World War | 9 | | II; he married Geraldine "Jerry" V. Good in Joliet on December | 10 | | 22, 1946; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Jones and his wife owned and operated | 12 | | Fitzer's Frostie Ice Cream Stand during the summers in Joliet | 13 | | for several years; during the winter season, he built homes; | 14 | | and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, After retiring, Clyde Jones and his wife moved to | 16 | | Lake Isabella, California, where he continued to build houses; | 17 | | they later returned to Illinois to be closer to their children; | 18 | | he was a member of the Church of Christ in Lake Isabella, | 19 | | California and the Herrin Church of Christ in Herrin, Illinois; | 20 | | and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Jones was preceded in death by his parents; |

| 1 | | his wife, Jerry; his sister, Alice Pettys; and his brother, | 2 | | Carey Jones; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Clyde Jones is survived by his children, Jackie | 4 | | Godfrey and Patti (Paul) Turpin; his grandchildren, Shirene | 5 | | (Dustin) Garner and Paul Jon (Ashley) Turpin; his | 6 | | great-grandchildren, Avery, Ryker, Elliott, and Hadley; his | 7 | | sister, Martha Mealey; and his many nieces and nephews; | 8 | | therefore, be it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Clyde J. Jones and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
