SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Phillip V. "Phil" "Butch" Tubbs of
4Moline, who passed away on May 2, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to
6Jesse and Matilda Tubbs on May 23, 1939; he married Judith
7Ferrall, and they later divorced; he then married Sharon
8Gibson; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs proudly served in the United States
10Navy as a gunner's mate aboard the USS Des Moines from 1958
11until 1966; he retired from the Rock Island Arsenal, where he
12was a machinist, in 1988; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs enjoyed the beauty and collecting of
14antiques; he had a passion for food and spending time outdoors;
15he also loved to travel; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs was preceded in death by his parents;
17his sister, Judith Flint; his brother, Richard Tubbs; and his
18stepdaughter, Tammy Van Hoosier; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Phil Tubbs is survived by his wife, Sharon; his
20children, Eugene (Melissa) Tubbs, Phyllis (Eric) Mossage, and

1Cheryl (Joseph) Raskin; his seven grandchildren; and his four
2great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Phillip V. "Phil" "Butch" Tubbs and extend our sincere
6condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
7him; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Phil Tubbs as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
