| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Steven A. "Steve" Sheldon of Hillsdale, | 4 | | who passed away on May 18, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Steve Sheldon was born in Geneseo to Ralph and | 6 | | Marjorie Hugart Sheldon on January 7, 1952; he served in the | 7 | | United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran; he married Debbie | 8 | | Carmichael at Hillsdale Methodist Church on September 9, 1972; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Steve Sheldon retired from the maintenance | 11 | | department at John Deere after 35 years of service; he also | 12 | | served his community as a former police officer of Geneseo and | 13 | | Police Chief of Hillsdale; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Steve Sheldon enjoyed remodeling homes, fishing, | 15 | | and visiting Myrtle Beach; he cherished his family and was a | 16 | | loving husband, son, brother, and father; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Steve Sheldon was preceded in death by his father; | 18 | | his in-laws, Bill and Marina Carmichael; his grandparents, | 19 | | Charles and Gladys Hugart; his special aunt, Shirley; and his | 20 | | many aunts and uncles; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Steve Sheldon is survived by his wife, Debbie; his | 2 | | mother, Marjorie; his children, Threasa (Ron Whittington) | 3 | | Sheldon and Troy (Alicia) Sheldon; his grandchildren, Dallas, | 4 | | Brandon, Dreyven, and Lillian; and his siblings, Bill | 5 | | (Patricia) Sheldon and Dick (Debbie) Sheldon; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Steven A. "Steve" Sheldon and extend our sincere condolences to | 9 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
