SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence Emil "Larry" Kistner Sr. of
4Moline, who passed away on May 27, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Kistner Sr. was born in Canton to Raymond
6and Ada (Clark) Kistner on June 3, 1928; he served in the
7United States Army during World War II; he married Jacqueline
8Williams Heflin in Rock Island on August 10, 1957; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Larry Kistner Sr. was employed by Royal Neighbors
10of America and retired as In Plant Print Manager in 1992 after
1140 years of service; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry Kistner Sr. held several offices and was
13instrumental in organizing both the In Plant Management
14Association of the Quad Cities and the Great River In Plant
15Association; he was a former Institutional Representative of
16the Boy Scouts of Rock Island and Moline, a former president of
17Dad's Club, and a former member of the First Baptist Church of
18Moline; he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren,
19watching Nascar races, and playing euchre; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Larry Kistner Sr. was preceded in death by his
21sisters, Bonnie Kistner and Louise Sexton; and

1    WHEREAS, Larry Kistner Sr. is survived by his wife of 60
2years, Jackie; his children and their spouses, Jerry and Laura
3Kistner, Donald and Connie Kistner, Dale and Marianne Kistner,
4Judy and Douglas Niska, Lawrence Jr. and Susan Kistner, and
5Brent and Lesley Kistner; his 17 grandchildren, his eight
6great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Bernita (Dean)
7Kleinschmidt and Ann Fulscher; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Lawrence Emil "Larry" Kistner Sr. and extend our sincere
11condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
12him; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Larry Kistner Sr. as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
