SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Vincent H. "Vince" Polaschek of East
4Moline, who passed away on June 18, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Vince Polaschek was born in Tracy, Minnesota to
6John and Mary Dastych Polaschek on February 5, 1926; he served
7in the United States Navy aboard the USS Beckham during World
8War II in the Pacific Theater, including Iwo Jima and Okinawa;
9he married Mary Jo Van Hoe in East Moline on October 11, 1952;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Vince Polaschek retired from the John Deere
12Foundry as a Quality Control Inspector in September 1983 after
13nearly 35 years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Vince Polaschek served on the Board of Directors
15for the former John Deere Foundry Credit Union; his passions in
16life were photography and gardening; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Vince Polaschek was preceded in death by his
18parents; his wife, Mary Jo; his sisters, Helen Van Moer,
19Dorothy Van Hulle, and Pauline Marks; and his brothers, Joseph.
20Leo, William, Francis, and David Polaschek; and

1    WHEREAS, Vince Polaschek is survived by his children, Linda
2(Bob) Black, Tom (Chris) Polaschek, and Jane Fleming; his
3grandchildren, Matt (Sarah) Wessels, Mike Wessels, Stacy
4(Josh) Neyland, Amy (Jeff) Wong, Quincy (Susy) Hughes, Brent
5Polaschek, and Lacey Polaschek; his 15 great-grandchildren;
6his many nieces and nephews; and his dog, Holly; therefore, be
7it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Vincent H. "Vince" Polaschek and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Vince Polaschek as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
