| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Mary Lou Stephens Swift of Bloomington, | 4 | | who passed away on June 19, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift was born in Anna to Elmer and Elsie | 6 | | (Mattheis) Stephens on July 13, 1936; as a child, she enjoyed | 7 | | riding, showing, and caring for her horses at their Union | 8 | | County farm; she graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in | 9 | | 1954; she graduated from the Paducah Beauty School in 1956; she | 10 | | married Thomas Gilbert Swift on September 2, 1957; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift and her husband traveled the world | 12 | | together and lived in many places, including Singapore and | 13 | | Bangkok, Thailand; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift was a loving wife, mother, | 15 | | grandmother, and great-grandmother; she enjoyed her many | 16 | | friendships, traveling, and collecting primitive American | 17 | | antiques; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift was preceded in death by her | 19 | | parents; her brothers, Elmer Eugene Stephens Jr. and Richard | 20 | | Stephens; and her twin sister, Martha Sue Stephens Norton; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Mary Lou Swift is survived by her husband, Thomas; | 2 | | her children, Cynthia (Randall) Lorimor and Craig (Rebecca) | 3 | | Swift; her grandsons, Barton (Jenette) Lorimor and Mattheis | 4 | | (Emma) Lorimor; her great-granddaughters, Robin and Myra | 5 | | Lorimor; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Mary Lou Stephens Swift and extend our sincere condolences to | 9 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 10 | | further
