SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William H. Long of Rock Island, who
4passed away on June 27, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Long was born in Bureau to Raymond and
6Bernice Streed Long on August 16, 1937; he served in the U.S.
7Army Reserve and married Shirley J. Canute in Rock Island on
8November 9, 1957; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Long was employed at Reynolds
10Manufacturing for 10 years; he then worked at Quad City
11Engineering in Rock Island until his retirement in 2005; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Long was an active member of the Fifteenth
13Avenue Christian Church in Rock Island, where he sang in the
14choir; he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and fast pitch
15girls softball; his favorite times were spent with family and
16at church activities; and
 
17    WHEREAS, William Long was preceded in death by his parents;
18his brothers, Kenneth and Robert Long; and his sisters, Betty
19Cutler and Ruth Long Allen; and
 
20    WHEREAS, William Long is survived by his wife, Shirley; his

1children, Terry (Joel) Ambrozi, Anthony "Tony" Long, and Tammy
2(Ron) Mutka; his grandchildren, Tara (Michael) Kapple, Kyle
3(Chelsea) Ambrozi, Taylor Ambrozi, Daniel Long, Steven Long,
4Nikki Hinerichsen, Jessica Long, Destine Ellis, Daltin
5Hartman, Meaghan (Justin) Collins, and Eric (Sarah) Mutka; 11
6great-grandchildren; his brothers, Don (Donna) and Raymond
7Long; his numerous nieces, nephews, and additional family; and
8close family friends, Aran and Jeff Reddig, and their daughter,
9Jena; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12William H. Long, and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of William Long as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
