| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Charles C. Ulfig Jr. of Coal Valley, who | 4 | | passed away on July 24, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was born in Batavia to Charles Sr. | 6 | | and Jenny (Johnson) Ulfig on June 7, 1928; he served in the | 7 | | U.S. Navy during World War II and then earned a bachelor's | 8 | | degree in engineering from the University of Illinois; he | 9 | | married Patricia J. Bradshaw in Rock Island on April 12, 1952; | 10 | | and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig worked for the Victor Gasket Co., | 12 | | retiring as national sales manager in 1990; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was a member of the Rock Island | 14 | | Moose Lodge, Rock Island VFW Post #1303, and the University of | 15 | | Illinois Engineering Society; he enjoyed stamp and coin | 16 | | collecting, golfing, fishing, and cooking; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig was preceded in death by his wife, | 18 | | Patricia; his son, Charles Ulfig; and his brother, James Ulfig; | 19 | | and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Charles Ulfig is survived by his children, Ralph |
