SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John A. Lucas Jr. of Colona, who passed
4away on August 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Lucas Jr. was born in Camp Lejeune, North
6Carolina to John Alan Lucas Sr. and Sally Patterson Lucas on
7July 10, 1953; he married Kathy Visser Lucas, and they later
8divorced; he attended Black Hawk College, where he earned his
9Phlebotomy Tech Certification; and
 
10    WHEREAS, John Lucas Jr. worked as a health care provider
11and phlebotomist for several local Quad-Cities health care
12locations; and
 
13    WHEREAS, John Lucas Jr. was a veteran of the United States
14Navy and enjoyed following and discussing politics; he was a
15musician and was known for his love and appreciation of all
16things music; and
 
17    WHEREAS, John Lucas Jr. was preceded in death by his
18father, John Lucas Sr., his mother, Sally Humphrey, and his
19stepfather, Russ Humphrey; and
 
20    WHEREAS, John Lucas Jr. is survived by his daughters, Ayla

1K. Lucas and her son, Archer, and Edie P. (Adam) Gentry and
2their daughter, Addison; his brothers, Patrick Lucas, Trace
3Lucas, Les (Cindy) Lucas, and Mike (Wanda) Lucas; his sisters,
4Karen (Bill Damm) Lucas and Cyndi Lucas; his stepmother, Carol
5Lucas; and his stepsister, Deb Powell; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8John A. Lucas Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of John Lucas Jr. as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
