SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond "Turk" Misfeldt of Erie, who
4passed away on August 18, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Raymond Misfeldt was born in Coe Township, rural
6Port Byron, to William and Louise (Falk) Misfeldt on September
71, 1925; he graduated from Erie High School in 1944; he served
8in the United States Navy during World War II; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Raymond Misfeldt worked at the Misfeldt Cafe; he
10later worked for the Erie Dairy; he then worked as a deliver
11driver for Pearce Oil Company, where he retired at the age of
1265; to fill his time, he took a job as a janitor at the Erie
13Elementary School and retired at the age of 80; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Raymond Misfeldt was a 70-year member of the
15Denton-Schreiner American Legion Post 582 in Erie and the Erie
16Masonic Lodge #667; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and
17enjoyed bowling and fishing; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Raymond Misfeldt was preceded in death by his
19wife, Audrey; and his siblings, Evelyn Wierenga, Florence
20Misfeldt, and William "Billy" Misfeldt; and

1    WHEREAS, Raymond Misfeldt is survived by his daughters,
2Sandi (Jeff) Buller, Kris (Lionel McCallister) Thompson, and
3Patti (Jon Mitton) Misfeldt; his grandchildren, Paul (Amy)
4Buller, Anna Buller, and Allison (Sean) Adams; and his
5great-grandsons, Ethan and Victor Adams and Luca Buller;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Raymond "Turk" Misfeldt and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Raymond Misfeldt as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
