SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Douglas K. "Doug" Grubbs of Moline, who
4passed away on September 21, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Doug Grubbs was born in Moline to Gerald and
6Shirley (Jennings) Grubbs on September 1, 1957; he served in
7the U.S. Army and married Teresa Mayers Long in Moline on
8December 21, 2012; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Doug Grubbs was an equipment installer at the Rock
10Island Arsenal for 38 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Doug Grubbs loved music, playing guitar and drums,
12and riding his Harley; he was a hugger and enjoyed reading and
13watching birds from his deck; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Doug Grubbs is survived by his wife, Teresa; his
15children and their spouses, Sandra and Steven Rease and Justin
16and Wendy Grubbs; his grandchildren, Logan Grubbs and Kaitlyn,
17Kailee, and Madison Rease; his stepchildren and their fiancees,
18Chad Long and Candace Martin, Nolan Long and Ashley, and
19Alexandra Long and Jared Grassberger; his stepgrandchildren,
20Chase, Jordan, and Nevaeh Long, and Jason Grassberger; his
21siblings and their spouses, Fred "Bud" and Angela Grubbs,

1Deborah Grubbs-Yost, and Jeff and Kris Baines; his stepmother,
2Sharon Grubbs; his mother-in-law, Lois Mayers; Teresa's
3siblings and their spouses, Jeff and Denise Mayers, Julie and
4Matt Joeckle, Kevin and Diane Mayers, and John and Vicky
5Mayers; and his good friends, William and Jennifer Bradley;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Douglas K. "Doug" Grubbs and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Doug Grubbs as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
