SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John J. Wilcox of Rock Island, who passed away on October 22, 2018; and

WHEREAS, John Wilcox was born in Woodhull to John and Ruth Burgess Wilcox on April 20, 1926; he graduated from Monmouth College; he served in the United States Army and was a highly-decorated World War II veteran; he married Marilyn J. Axland in May of 1959; and

WHEREAS, John Wilcox worked as an industrial engineer for John Deere; and

WHEREAS, John Wilcox enjoyed fishing; and

WHEREAS, John Wilcox was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his grandson, Roger John Bergfeld; and his sister, Noma Koski; and

WHEREAS, John Wilcox is survived by his daughter, Victoria (Roger Bergfeld) Wilcox, and his grandson, Benjamin Bergfeld; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John J. Wilcox and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Wilcox as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
