AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2215

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2215 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Fire Protection Training Act is
5amended by changing Section 8 as follows:
 
6    (50 ILCS 740/8)  (from Ch. 85, par. 538)
7    Sec. 8. Rules and minimum standards for schools. The Office
8shall adopt rules and minimum standards for such schools which
9shall include but not be limited to the following:
10        a. Minimum courses of study, resources, facilities,
11    apparatus, equipment, reference material, established
12    records and procedures as determined by the Office.
13        b. Minimum requirements for instructors.
14        c. Minimum basic training requirements, which a
15    trainee must satisfactorily complete before being eligible
16    for permanent employment as a fire fighter in the fire

1    department of a participating local governmental agency.
2    Those requirements shall include training in first aid
3    (including cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and training in
4    the administration of opioid antagonists as defined in
5    paragraph (1) of subsection (e) of Section 5-23 of the
6    Substance Use Disorder Act, and for firefighters hired
7    under Division 2.1 of Article 10 of the Illinois Municipal
8    Code, under Section 10-1-7.1 of the Illinois Municipal
9    Code, or under Section 16.06b of the Fire Protection
10    District Act, training in the history of the fire service
11    labor movement using curriculum provided by a statewide
12    organization representing professional union firefighters
13    in the State. The organization may also provide
14    instructors.

16    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17becoming law.".
