AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2512

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2512 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Board of Higher Education Act is amended by
5changing Section 9.29 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 205/9.29)
7    Sec. 9.29. Tuition and fee waiver report.
8    (a) The Board of Higher Education shall annually compile
9information concerning tuition and fee waivers and tuition and
10fee waiver programs that has been provided by the Boards of
11Trustees of the University of Illinois, Southern Illinois
12University, Chicago State University, Eastern Illinois
13University, Governors State University, Illinois State
14University, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern
15Illinois University, and Western Illinois University and shall
16report its findings and recommendations concerning tuition and

1fee waivers and tuition and fee waiver programs to the General
2Assembly by filing electronic or paper copies of its report by
3December 31 of each year as provided in Section 3.1 of the
4General Assembly Organization Act.
5    (b) No later than July 1, 2020, and annually thereafter,
6each public university must submit a report to the Board of
7Higher Education on the amount of tuition that undergraduate,
8degree-seeking students attending the university paid in the
9previous academic year that includes all of the following
10information:
11        (1) The percentage of undergraduate students who paid
12    more than 75% of full tuition costs.
13        (2) The percentage of undergraduate students who paid
14    more than 50% but no more than 75% of full tuition costs.
15        (3) The percentage of undergraduate students who paid
16    more than 25% but no more than 50% of full tuition costs.
17        (4) The percentage of undergraduate students who paid
18    no more than 25% of full tuition costs.
19        (5) The percentage of undergraduate students who had no
20    tuition costs.
21The tuition costs calculated under this subsection must reflect
22the amount of tuition paid by a student after all scholarships,
23grants, and other financial assistance have been applied to his
24or her tuition charge and must reflect only the amounts paid by
25undergraduate, degree-seeking students.
26    The Board of Higher Education must annually compile and

1submit to the General Assembly, as part of the report required
2under subsection (a), the information received under this
3subsection.
