| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Alice
Green of Okawville | 4 | | for being awarded the Devotion to Community Award from
the West | 5 | | Washington County Progress Initiative; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Alice Green married Richard Green on January 16, | 7 | | 1965; they had three children, Donna,
Duane, and the late | 8 | | Sandra, and now have seven grandchildren, Andrew, Justin, | 9 | | Chelsea, Thomas, Lucas,
Jordan, and Garret, and one | 10 | | great-grandchild, Brantlee; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Alice Green and Rich have devoted much of their | 12 | | free time to the
Heritage House Museum Association, which they | 13 | | helped found in 1982; and
| 14 | | WHEREAS, The Heritage House Museum Association has been | 15 | | able to purchase and preserve
several different historical | 16 | | homes to serve as a sense of pride for the community and as an | 17 | | attraction for
tourists; and | 18 | | WHEREAS, Alice Green has served numerous terms on the | 19 | | Heritage House Museum Board; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, Alice Green helped to create the Heritage Days |

| 1 | | celebration, a two-day event that
generates revenue to operate | 2 | | and preserve the historical homes operated by the Heritage | 3 | | House
Museum Association; and | 4 | | WHEREAS, Alice Green and Rich help to design and construct | 5 | | the Heritage House
float for the Okawville Fair and Wheat | 6 | | Festival; and | 7 | | WHEREAS, Alice Green has helped garner interest among | 8 | | Okawville residents in opening their homes for
the Christmas | 9 | | House tour which benefits the museum association; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Alice Green has owned and operated her own | 11 | | decorating business, Greens
Decorating, in Okawville since | 12 | | 1986; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, After years of community service and running her | 14 | | own business, Alice Green has
started working part-time to have | 15 | | more time at home on her farm and with family; therefore, be it
| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | 17 | | HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | 18 | | we congratulate and honor Alice
Green for her years of | 19 | | community service reflected in her nomination for the
Devotion | 20 | | to Community Award; and be it further
