1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 450
2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 450 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:

4     "Section 5. The Career and Workforce Transition Act is
5 amended by changing Section 10 as follows:

6     (110 ILCS 151/10)
7     Sec. 10. Transfer of credits.
8     (a) A public community college district shall accept up to
9 30 credit hours transferred from an institution that has been
10 approved under Section 15 of this Act if a student has
11 completed one of the following programs at that institution:
12         (1) Medical Assisting.
13         (2) Medical Coding.
14         (3) Dental Assisting.
15         (4) HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
16         (5) Welding.

1         (6) Pharmacy Technician.
2         (7) General Carpentry.
3         (8) Interior Systems Carpentry.
4         (9) Drywall.
5         (10) Floor Covering.
6         (11) Mill-cabinetry.
7         (12) Millwright.
8         (13) Insulation/Spray Foam.
9         (14) Siding Installation.
10         (15) Roofing.
11         (16) Lathing.
12         (17) Pile Driving.
13         (18) Concrete Forming.
14         (19) Scaffolding.
15         (20) Residential Electrical Construction.
16         (21) Commercial Electrical Construction.
17         (22) Industrial Electrical Construction.
18         (23) Renewable Energy Technology.
19         (24) Energy Efficiency Concepts.
20         (25) Electrical Manufacturing Sector.
21         (26) Communications Systems.
22         (27) Life Safety Systems.
23         (28) Security Systems.
24         (29) Sound Alarms.
25         (30) Electrical Work Safety Practices.
26         (31) Electrical Maintenance.

1         (32) Fire Alarms.
2         (33) Motor Controls.
3         (34) Transformers.
4         (35) Variable Speed Drive Systems.
5         (36) Rigging.
6 The program must, at a minimum, be a 9-month program and use a
7 credit-hour system.
8     (b) The public community college district may accept the
9 credits as direct equivalent credits or prior learning credits,
10 as determined by the district and consistent with the
11 accrediting standards and institutional and residency
12 requirements of the Board, the Higher Learning Commission,
13 other State and national accreditors, and State licensing
14 bodies, as appropriate.
15     (c) Any designation given by Board of credit hour value for
16 items (1) through (6) under subsection (a) shall be applied by
17 the community college district as direct or elective credit
18 toward an associate degree of applied science or its equivalent
19 as determined by the community college district.

21     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
22 becoming law.".
