| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Martha Pulido Logemann of Rockford, who | 4 | | passed away on January 25, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Martha Logemann was born in Zacapu, Michoacan, | 6 | | Mexico to Esperanza (Sanchez) and Juan Pulido on January 22, | 7 | | 1950; at age six, she moved with her family to Rockford; she | 8 | | graduated from Auburn High School in 1969; she attended the | 9 | | University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Raised with a passion for justice, Martha Logemann | 11 | | began a long career of public activism in 1972; she volunteered | 12 | | for the McGovern presidential campaign; she also served in | 13 | | various roles for the YWCA, Rosecrance, Congressman John Cox, | 14 | | Stepping Stones, the Winnebago County Democratic Party, the | 15 | | Coalition for Choice, Women Electing Women, the League of Women | 16 | | Voters, the Northern Illinois Women's Center, South West Ideas | 17 | | for Today and Tomorrow, and the Northwest Illinois Area Agency | 18 | | on Aging; she also served as a Rockford Township Trustee; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Martha Logemann was a member of the Unitarian | 20 | | Universalist Church; she was a great cook and baker; she | 21 | | enjoyed relaxing with her family at their annual Thanksgiving | 22 | | reunion; she was vibrant and full of spirit and vigor; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Martha Logemann was preceded in death by her | 2 | | father, Juan Pulido, and her brother-in-law, Carl Logemann; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Martha Logemann is survived by her mother, | 4 | | Esperanza Pulido; her mother-in-law, Jean Logemann; her | 5 | | husband, Clark Logemann; her sons, Eli and Andrew Logemann, her | 6 | | brothers, Juan (Yolanda) Pulido and Gilbert (Janet) Pulido; her | 7 | | sister, Donna (Kent) Jones; her brother-in-law, William (Anne) | 8 | | Logemann; her sisters-in-law, Lynne (Kerry) George, Elaine | 9 | | Enriquez, and Mary Kay Logemann; her nieces and nephews, | 10 | | Valeria Pulido, Monica Pulido, Juan Pablo Pulido, Sam Jones, | 11 | | Kayla Jones, Allison Pulido, Andrea Pulido, Jeremiah Logemann, | 12 | | Christopher (Marni) George, Jessica (Jamie) Zabel, Jonathan | 13 | | (Sarah) Logemann, and Teresa Logemann; therefore, be it
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 16 | | Martha Pulido Logemann and extend our sincere condolences to | 17 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 18 | | further
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 20 | | presented to the family of Martha Logemann as an expression of | 21 | | our deepest sympathy.
