| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Betty C. (O'Reilly) McShane, who passed | 4 | | away on March 13, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Betty McShane was born in South Wilmington to | 6 | | Joseph John and Catherine (Gorman) O'Reilly on December 1, | 7 | | 1925; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Betty McShane's love of math helped her start her | 9 | | career in banking; she was the Home Loan Officer at Joliet | 10 | | Savings & Loan in Joliet; she also worked at the Joliet | 11 | | Walgreens in the Jefferson Square Mall for 16 years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Betty McShane was a member of the VFW #367 Ladies | 13 | | Auxiliary, Joliet Elks Lodge #296, and the St. Paul the Apostle | 14 | | Paulites; she and her husband raised their family at St. | 15 | | Patrick Church Parish, where she was a member of the CCW and 55 | 16 | | Club; her family was her greatest joy; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Betty McShane was preceded in death by her | 18 | | parents; her husband, Kenneth "Ozzie" Jerome McShane; her | 19 | | brother, Gorman Joseph (Helen) O'Reilly; her sisters, Audrey | 20 | | (Langdon) Meade, Dee (Len) Elberts, Virginia (Fred) MacKay, and | 21 | | LaVerne (Ken) Hanks; and her brother-in-law, Ed Legan; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Betty McShane is survived by her children, Pat | 2 | | (Denise) McShane, Kate McShane, and Kevin (Kate) McShane; her | 3 | | grandchildren, Patrick, Erin, Ryan, Jack, Nora, Peter, and | 4 | | Kevin; her stepgrandchildren, Jamie and Jenny; her | 5 | | godchildren, Paul Elberts, Casey Hanks, Robert MacKay, John | 6 | | Legan, and Jerry McShane; her sister, Joan Legan; and her many | 7 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Betty C. (O'Reilly) McShane and extend our sincere condolences | 11 | | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be | 12 | | it further
