| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Ann E. Stapleton, who passed away on | 4 | | December 31, 2018; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was born in Waukegan to Joseph and | 6 | | Margaret Selzer on January 23, 1936; and
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton worked for Ammco Tools in North | 8 | | Chicago for 32 years as an inspector and recording secretary; | 9 | | after retirement, she owned The Cottage Lounge in Waukegan; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was a lifetime member of American | 11 | | Legion Post 281 in Waukegan and VFW Post 7448 Ladies Auxiliary | 12 | | in Winthrop Harbor; she enjoyed doing volunteer work with the | 13 | | Salvation Army and was known by many as "The Candy Grandma"; | 14 | | and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton was preceded in death by her | 16 | | husband, Fred Stapleton; her parents; her siblings, Joseph Jr., | 17 | | Pete, Richard, Gertrude, and Agnes; and her daughter, Jinx Ann | 18 | | Moore; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ann Stapleton is survived by her daughters, | 20 | | Frances and Christy Fiesel; her grandchildren, Charles (Angie) |

| 1 | | and Robert Moore; her great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Colton, | 2 | | and Megan; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 4 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 5 | | Ann E. Stapleton and extend our sincere condolences to her | 6 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | 7 | | further
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 9 | | presented to the family of Ann Stapleton as an expression of | 10 | | our deepest sympathy.
