| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Eugene D. "Gene" DeVilder of East Moline, | 4 | | who passed away on May 11, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Gene DeVilder was born in Brooklyn, Iowa to Bruno | 6 | | and Clara DeVolder DeVilder on July 27, 1929; he married Nancy | 7 | | A. Brandt Allen in East Moline on January 1, 1977; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Gene DeVilder was a veteran of the Korean War; he | 9 | | also served in the Illinois National Guard and retired as a | 10 | | Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserves; he | 11 | | worked for John Deere for 38 years and retired in 1984; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Gene DeVilder enjoyed traveling in his RV, playing | 13 | | golf, working on home renovation projects, and spending time | 14 | | with family and friends; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Gene DeVilder was preceded in death by his wife, | 16 | | Nancy; his son, Jeffery DeVilder; his stepson, William Allen; | 17 | | and his sisters, Irene Dopler and Bernice Porter; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Gene DeVilder is survived by his daughters, Kathy | 19 | | Mabeus, Jill DeVilder, and Jeanine Cowen; his stepchildren, | 20 | | Bill and Delores Graham, Joan and Bob Pfeiffer, and Brad and |
