| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Kenneth W. "Ken" Oleson of Bloomington, | 4 | | who passed away on June 24, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ken Oleson was born in Dubuque, Iowa to Carl and | 6 | | Rita Smith Oleson on January 9, 1938; he graduated from Loras | 7 | | College; he married Sharon L. Carroll on June 9, 1956; and
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Ken Oleson worked for State Farm and retired as a | 9 | | manager in the internal audit department in 2000 after 38 years | 10 | | of service; he enjoyed a long-term role in the Institute of | 11 | | Internal Auditors; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Ken Oleson was a member of St. Mary's Catholic | 13 | | Church for over 55 years; he was active on the parish council | 14 | | and was influential in the restoration of St. Joseph Cemetery; | 15 | | he was a driver for Faith in Action; he was a longtime | 16 | | supporter of ISU athletics and enjoyed all sports; he was a | 17 | | faithful attendee at all of his grandchildren's activities; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Ken Oleson was preceded in death by his sons, | 19 | | Scott Oleson and Paul Oleson; his daughter-in-law, Lisa Oleson; | 20 | | and his brother, Gary Oleson; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Ken Oleson is survived by his wife, Sharon; his | 2 | | children, Kim (Thomas) Arnold, Kurt (Carolyn) Oleson, Julie | 3 | | (Mark) Boge, and Jenny (Greg) Allen; his 14 grandchildren; his | 4 | | 10 great-grandchildren and another on the way; and his brother, | 5 | | Karl (Mary Kay) Oleson; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Kenneth W. "Ken" Oleson and extend our sincere condolences to | 9 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
