| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Joyce O'Neil of Lockport/Homer Glen, who | 4 | | passed away on June 26, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Joyce O'Neil was born to Louis A. and Rose M. | 6 | | (Talarico) Fondriest on November 11, 1933; she graduated from | 7 | | Joliet Township High School in 1952, where she served as | 8 | | treasurer and as a member of the class reunion planning | 9 | | committee; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Joyce O'Neil and her husband, Patrick O'Neil, | 11 | | opened O'Neil Funeral Home in Lockport in 1972, and she worked | 12 | | there up until a few months before her death; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Joyce O'Neil was dedicated to St. Joseph Catholic | 14 | | Parish in Lockport and to St. Joseph School; she and her | 15 | | husband were also active at Providence Catholic High School for | 16 | | many years; the last few years, she attended daily Mass at Our | 17 | | Mother of Good Council in Homer Glen; she was a member of the | 18 | | St. Joseph Church Senior Citizen's Club, the Lockport Women's | 19 | | Club, and the American Italian Cultural Society in Crest Hill; | 20 | | not one to sit still, she enjoyed shopping, meeting up with | 21 | | friends, volunteering for the Women's Club, serving spaghetti | 22 | | at the American Italian Cultural Society, lending a hand to her |

| 1 | | nieces and nephews, and attending the sporting events and | 2 | | school functions of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; | 3 | | she was a sports enthusiast and an avid fan of the Chicago | 4 | | Cubs; she listened to many Joliet Slammer baseball games and | 5 | | Chicago Bears football games on the radio; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Joyce O'Neil was preceded in death by her husband, | 7 | | Patrick; her parents; and her O'Neil family brothers-in-law and | 8 | | sisters-in-law; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Joyce O'Neil is survived by her children, Kimberly | 10 | | A. (Edward) Golob and Patrick K. (Jennifer) O'Neil; her | 11 | | grandchildren, Bradley Edward (Tabitha) Golob, Erin Colleen | 12 | | (Donna) Allison, Shannon Patrick (fiance Ashley Grotto), Shae | 13 | | Marie, and Ryan Patrick O'Neil; her great-grandchildren, | 14 | | Nathanael Thomas McCurrie, Abigail McKenzie Golob, Jacob | 15 | | Anthony Allison, and Carter Patrick Allison; her sister, | 16 | | Patricia (William) Kettman; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and | 17 | | dear friends; and the staff members and their families of | 18 | | O'Neil Funeral Home; therefore, be it
| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 20 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 21 | | Joyce O'Neil and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | 22 | | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
