| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William C. "Bill" Floyd of East Moline, | 4 | | who passed away on July 8, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bill Floyd was born in Alton, Missouri to Clifford | 6 | | and Betty (Litherland) Floyd on March 16, 1950; he graduated | 7 | | from United Township High School in East Moline in 1968; he | 8 | | served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in | 9 | | 1970; he married Marla Marner in East Moline on September 29, | 10 | | 1973; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Bill Floyd retired from the City of East Moline | 12 | | after 20 years of service as a waste water treatment operator; | 13 | | he was a 20-year member and former union steward of AFSCME | 14 | | #1234; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, As a young man, Bill Floyd was a proud member of | 16 | | DeMolay in Colona; he was an avid fan of the St. Louis | 17 | | Cardinals and enjoyed attending auctions with Marla, family | 18 | | gatherings, bonfires, and keeping up with his Honey-Do list; in | 19 | | their younger years, Bill and Marla enjoyed playing in softball | 20 | | leagues, going on road trips, and being at the East Moline | 21 | | Speedway in the pits; and |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bill Floyd was hardworking, never knew a stranger, | 2 | | enjoyed the simple things in life, and had a notorious sense of | 3 | | humor; he loved spending time with his family; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bill Floyd was preceded in death by his parents | 5 | | and his wife, Marla; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Bill Floyd is survived by his children, MaryAnn | 7 | | (Mike) Halpin and Dustin "Cale" Floyd; his grandchildren, | 8 | | Natalie and Will Halpin; his siblings, Kitty (Mike) Lopez, Phil | 9 | | (Robin) Floyd, Kathy (Wayne) Mahoney, Konnie (Eugene) Fry, | 10 | | Robert (DeAnna) Floyd, Roger Floyd, and Beth (Dave) Engle; and | 11 | | numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 14 | | William C. "Bill" Floyd and extend our sincere condolences to | 15 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 16 | | further
| 17 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 | | presented to the family of Bill Floyd as an expression of our | 19 | | deepest sympathy.
