| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Greg William Ervin of Toledo, who passed | 4 | | away on July 18, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Greg Ervin was born to C. Carroll and Mary (Stitt) | 6 | | Ervin on August 18, 1960; he began building boats, working on | 7 | | race cars, and erecting hog barns with his father at an early | 8 | | age; he started his first business at the age of 15 when he | 9 | | purchased a tractor and rented farm ground from a relative; he | 10 | | married Christie Sowers in 1978; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Greg Ervin founded Ervin Trucking in 1981 and | 12 | | began hauling sand and gravel to construction sites; as he sold | 13 | | old equipment to make room for new, he quickly recognized the | 14 | | demand for pre-owned inventory and created Ervin Equipment | 15 | | Incorporated in 1991, where he focused on selling and leasing | 16 | | equipment within the transportation industry; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Greg Ervin was honest, hard working, fun loving, | 18 | | high energy, influential, and instrumental; he was passionate | 19 | | about his hometown community and worked tirelessly to preserve | 20 | | its future; he had an even greater love for his family; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Greg Ervin was preceded in death by his father; |

| 2 | | WHEREAS, Greg Ervin is survived by his wife of 40 years, | 3 | | Christie; his daughter, Kylee (Justin Ward) Ervin; his son, | 4 | | Cole (Season) Ervin; his grandchildren, Paxton, Payton, Jett, | 5 | | Eve, and Judd; his mother; and his sister, Barb Hall; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Greg William Ervin and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 13 | | presented to the family of Greg Ervin as an expression of our | 14 | | deepest sympathy.
