| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of David M. Peters of Peoria, who passed | 4 | | away on August 20, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, David Peters was born in Peoria to George T. and | 6 | | Mary (Vegich) Peters on January 25, 1948; he graduated from the | 7 | | Spalding Institute; he was drafted in 1969 and served in the | 8 | | United States Army at Fort Irwin during the Vietnam War; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, David Peters worked for Jim Maloof Realty; he then | 10 | | started Dave Peters Realty, which he later renamed as Main | 11 | | Street Realty, and retired in 2016; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, David Peters was the head of the Peoria County | 13 | | Board of Review for 20 years; he was a past president of AMBUCS | 14 | | and the West Main Street Association; he was president of the | 15 | | Itoo Club; he served as chairman for several organizations, | 16 | | including the Democratic Committee in Peoria, the Board of | 17 | | Realtors, the National Association of Realtors, and the | 18 | | International Association of Assessing Officers; he was a | 19 | | member of Cursillo, Third degree Spalding Council 427 and the | 20 | | St. Philomena Men's Club; he served on many St. Jude | 21 | | committees; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, David Peters was preceded in death by his parents | 2 | | and his brother, Daniel; and
| 3 | | WHEREAS, David Peters is survived by his sister, Jo Ann | 4 | | (Kevin) Bandle; his brother, William (Mary) Peters; his five | 5 | | nephews; and his two nieces; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | David M. Peters and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
| 11 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 12 | | presented to the family of David Peters as an expression of our | 13 | | deepest sympathy.
