| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Archie H. McCallister of Rantoul, who | 4 | | passed away on September 8, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Archie McCallister was born in Prospect to Roy I. | 6 | | and Velma (Taylor) McCallister on June 22, 1941; he married | 7 | | Carol Sommer at Bethany Park Christian Church in Rantoul on | 8 | | December 12, 1969; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Archie McCallister had many jobs in his lifetime; | 10 | | in his early years, he worked at Johnson's Ace Hardware; he | 11 | | worked at Kraft Foods for ten years, where he served as a | 12 | | transport driver; he then worked as a deputy in the Fugitive | 13 | | Apprehension Division of the Champaign County Sheriff's Office | 14 | | for 24 years; he served as a trustee on the Rantoul Village | 15 | | Board from 1985 until 1997; he ran for mayor in 1997; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Archie McCallister was a member of Maranatha | 17 | | Baptist Church in Rantoul; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Archie McCallister was preceded in death by his | 19 | | parents; his brothers, Jesse Childress and Leonard, Kenneth, | 20 | | and Larry McCallister; and two sisters, Shirley Schoonover and | 21 | | Virginia Brunner; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Archie McCallister is survived by his wife, Carol; | 2 | | his sons, Matthew (Cheryl) McCallister and Mark (MaryJean) | 3 | | McCallister; and his daughter, Amanda (Jeff) Helander; his | 4 | | daughters from a previous marriage, Becky and Patti; his | 5 | | grandchildren, Shelby (Boe) Stingley, Colin McCallister, | 6 | | Alanna and Alivia Brown, and EmmiLynne, Lucas, and AnnaLena | 7 | | McCallister; and his sister, Jerry Kay Steiger; therefore, be | 8 | | it
| 9 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 10 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 11 | | Archie H. McCallister and extend our sincere condolences to his | 12 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 13 | | further
| 14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 15 | | presented to the family of Archie McCallister as an expression | 16 | | of our deepest sympathy.
