| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Kenneth R. Peterson of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on October 18, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson was born in Moline to Philip and | 6 | | Albertina Carlson Peterson on September 12, 1926; following | 7 | | high school, he joined the U.S. Navy; he married Betty Stout at | 8 | | First Lutheran Church in Rock Island on June 2, 1951; and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson retired from Deere Harvester as a | 10 | | senior engineer in 1982, after 35 years; he spent three years | 11 | | in the expat program, which placed him and his family in | 12 | | Zweibrucken, Germany; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson was a lifelong member of First | 14 | | Lutheran Church; he was a proud volunteer for Junior | 15 | | Achievement; he enjoyed traveling with Betty and wintered for | 16 | | many years in Florida; he loved to play golf and tennis; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson was preceded in death by his | 18 | | parents; his sister, Dorothy Lund; and his brothers, Donald and | 19 | | Keith Peterson; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Kenneth Peterson is survived by his wife of 68 |

| 1 | | years, Betty Peterson; his children, Kathleen Peterson, Linda | 2 | | (Warren) Hartmann, and Craig (Cherie) Peterson; his | 3 | | grandchildren, Julia and Caroline Hartmann, Patti (Barry) | 4 | | Nord, Jenni (Tom) Wallaert, and Casey (Tanya) Peterson; his | 5 | | great-grandchildren, Emma, Dylan, Kenley, Weston, Corey, and | 6 | | Candice; and his sister, Joyce Anderson; therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Kenneth R. Peterson and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
