| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Paul Quintin Rodgers of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on October 30, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Rodgers was born in Moline to Dwight Oliver | 6 | | and Evelyn Leanore Peterson Rodgers on July 30, 1948; during | 7 | | school, he was a gymnast, wrestler, and member of the marching | 8 | | band; he entered the U.S. Army in June of 1968 and completed | 9 | | his basic training at Ft. Gordon, Georgia; he served in the | 10 | | Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery; | 11 | | and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Paul Rodgers was always thinking of others and | 13 | | would bring someone he had just met to the family Thanksgiving | 14 | | dinner, welcoming them when they had nowhere else to go; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Paul Rodgers lived a very adventurous life and was | 16 | | admired for his determination, independence, free spirited | 17 | | nature, and positive attitude; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Paul Rodgers was preceded in death by his brother, | 19 | | Guy Douglas Rodgers; his father, Dwight Oliver Rodgers; his | 20 | | mother, Evelyn Leanore Rodgers; his sister, Dorothy Eva Rodgers | 21 | | Sprung; his brother-in-law, Frank John Sprung; his |

| 3 | | WHEREAS, Paul Rodgers is survived by his sister, Jill Kay | 4 | | Rodgers Amoni; his brother, George Milton Rodgers (Anne | 5 | | Odermatt); and several nieces, nephews, friends, and | 6 | | neighbors, particularly, Juli and Chris Zimmerman along with | 7 | | their children; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Paul Quintin Rodgers and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
