| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of James Thomas "Jim" Jones Jr. of Rapids | 4 | | City, who passed away on November 30, 2019; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Jones was born in Moline to James T. Sr. and | 6 | | Antenette M. (Grumadas) Jones on January 13, 1937; he served in | 7 | | the U.S. Marine Corps from January of 1955 until December of | 8 | | 1957; he married Alberta F. Birdsley in Hampton on June 21, | 9 | | 1958; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Jim Jones worked for the Illinois Department of | 11 | | Transportation for many years; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Jim Jones was a member of Ebenezer Church of God | 13 | | in Geneseo; he enjoyed camping and fishing, and Giant Goose | 14 | | Campground in Atkinson was one of his favorite places; spending | 15 | | time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was his | 16 | | greatest joy; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jim Jones was preceded in death by his parents; | 18 | | and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Jim Jones is survived by his wife, Alberta; his | 20 | | children, James T. III (Karen) Jones, Cora (Daniel) Boggs, and |

| 1 | | Julie (Ray) Rolando; his grandchildren, James T. Jones IV, | 2 | | Daniel Boggs Jr., Tanae Boggs, Kailee Luedtke, Leah Rolando, | 3 | | Jacob Rolando, and Ryan Rolando; six great-grandchildren; and | 4 | | his siblings, Eleanor Jones, Lenolee Wilkins, David (Candace) | 5 | | Jones, and William (Patricia) Jones; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | James Thomas "Jim" Jones Jr. and extend our sincere condolences | 9 | | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | 10 | | it further
