| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Brian David Kelly of Champaign, who | 4 | | passed away on January 21, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Brian Kelly was born in Vandalia on September 19, | 6 | | 1974; he graduated from Vandalia Community High School and | 7 | | Southern Illinois University, where he majored in political | 8 | | science; he married Megan Louise Coblentz on February 5, 2009; | 9 | | and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Brian Kelly was a dedicated public servant, | 11 | | working for the Illinois State Legislature, two congressmen, | 12 | | and finally as Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk for Champaign County; | 13 | | he was a passionate problem-solver; he helped people with their | 14 | | most challenging issues, whether it was driving a person in | 15 | | need to a job interview or calling every agency contact he knew | 16 | | to help a family through a difficult immigration process; | 17 | | colleagues will remember him as a true partner and a steadfast | 18 | | supporter; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Brian Kelly enjoyed traveling with his wife, | 20 | | particularly to the San Francisco Bay area and to Pawleys | 21 | | Island in South Carolina; he also enjoyed golfing and reading | 22 | | American history; he was known for his humor and wit; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Brian Kelly is survived by his wife; his parents, | 2 | | Robert Michael "Mike" and Paulette (Bandelow) Kelly; his | 3 | | brother, Joseph Kelly; his sister, Jennifer (Randy) Barton; his | 4 | | nephews, Jakob and Nicholas "Nick"; his dog, Harper; and other | 5 | | cherished family members and friends; therefore, be it
| 6 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 7 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 8 | | Brian David Kelly and extend our sincere condolences to his | 9 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 10 | | further
