| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Carl W. Spoljoric Sr. of Rock Island, who | 4 | | passed away on February 28, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl Spoljoric was born in Hammond, Indiana to | 6 | | John Charles and Florence (Duney) Spoljoric on April 1, 1951; | 7 | | he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 to 1976 and married | 8 | | Nancy Fultz in Indiana on April 2, 1977; he graduated from | 9 | | Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in physical | 10 | | education; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Carl Spoljoric retired from the U.S. Small | 12 | | Business Administration Office of Disaster Assistance after 25 | 13 | | years as a construction analyst; previously, he worked for 84 | 14 | | Lumber, Sivyer Steel, and Calumet Auto Wrecking; he had also | 15 | | worked as a substitute teacher in the Rock Island School | 16 | | District; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Carl Spoljoric was an avid fan of Purdue sports; | 18 | | he loved traveling and woodworking and was a great handyman; he | 19 | | also enjoyed helping coach his daughter's Rock Island slow | 20 | | pitch softball team; and
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Carl Spoljoric was preceded in death by his infant |

| 1 | | daughter, Jennifer Christine Spoljoric and his parents; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Carl Spoljoric is survived by his wife, Nancy; his | 3 | | children, John Spoljoric II, Carl Spoljoric II (Jessica | 4 | | Quillin), and Chanci Spoljoric; his grandchildren, Ariyah, | 5 | | Allyssa, Isabelle, and Henry; his siblings, David, Virginia | 6 | | (Ginny), Daniel, Robert, and Christine (Tina); and his | 7 | | grand-dogs, Chewy and Bear; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Carl W. Spoljoric Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his | 11 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 12 | | further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Carl Spoljoric as an expression of | 15 | | our deepest sympathy.
