| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Bruce Edward Donnelly of Barrington, who | 4 | | passed away on May 25, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Donnelly was born in Arlington, Virginia to | 6 | | Margaret and Edward Donnelly on March 8, 1955; he moved to | 7 | | Barrington in 1968 and graduated from Barrington High School in | 8 | | 1973; he later received his master's degree in international | 9 | | business from the University of South Carolina; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Donnelly served as a U.S. diplomat under | 11 | | President Ronald Reagan; while with the State Department, he | 12 | | served both in Pakistan and Germany and learned to speak | 13 | | German; as a business consultant, he lived in Brazil and | 14 | | learned to speak Portuguese; he traveled a great deal to | 15 | | Britain, working on revitalizing its industry in the northern | 16 | | part of the country; he later worked for several organizations | 17 | | in corporate relocation services; and
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Donnelly's interests included travel, | 19 | | photography, foreign policy, and politics; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Donnelly was preceded in death by his | 21 | | parents; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bruce Donnelly is survived by his wife, Dolores | 2 | | Jean (Dietrich); his children, Diana Regin and William Edward; | 3 | | his brother, Bob; his sister, Linda (Jody) Hurlburt; and by | 4 | | many loving nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | Bruce Edward Donnelly and extend our sincere condolences to his | 8 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
| 10 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 11 | | presented to the family of Bruce Donnelly as an expression of | 12 | | our deepest sympathy.
