| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of George August Willemarck of East Moline, | 4 | | who passed away on September 18, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, George Willemarck was born in East Moline to Peter | 6 | | and Martha (Godfriet) Willemarck on July 22, 1926; he graduated | 7 | | from United Township High School and served in the U.S. Marines | 8 | | during World War II from 1942 to 1945; he married Katherine | 9 | | George in Rock Island in 1965; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, George Willemarck retired from the Rock Island | 11 | | Arsenal in 1981 after 28 years of service; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, George Willemarck was a fan of the Chicago Cubs | 13 | | and Chicago Bears; he loved following his grandchildren's | 14 | | soccer games; he enjoyed horse racing and authored a chapter in | 15 | | a book on the methods of handicapping horses; and
| 16 | | WHEREAS, George Willemarck was preceded in death by his | 17 | | wife, Katherine; his son, William Willemarck; his grandson, | 18 | | Justin Reedy; his son-in-law, Joe Reedy; his friend, Donald E. | 19 | | Rogers; and his parents; and
| 20 | | WHEREAS, George Willemarck is survived by his children, |

| 5 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 6 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 7 | | George August Willemarck and extend our sincere condolences to | 8 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 9 | | further
