| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Susan "Sue" Cipolle Trizna of Joliet, who | 4 | | passed away on August 25, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Sue Trizna was born to Norman F. and Joan (Hussey) | 6 | | Cipolle in Joliet on June 28, 1948; she attended Farragut, | 7 | | Hufford, and Joliet Township High School and was part of the | 8 | | second graduating class of Joliet West High School; she earned | 9 | | her Registered Nursing degree from Joliet Junior College and | 10 | | her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree | 11 | | from the University of St. Francis; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, In 1979, Sue Trizna began her career as a cardiac | 13 | | nurse at St. Joseph Medical Center; although she briefly worked | 14 | | for Teran Chiu Woodward Cardiovascular Consultants, she | 15 | | returned to the hospital to work in cardiac-related nursing and | 16 | | helped develop and lead a support group for spouses of cardiac | 17 | | patients and contributed to post cardiac and CABG patient | 18 | | education manuals; she later served in the roles of patient | 19 | | educator and staff educator at the hospital, teaching sessions | 20 | | on arrhythmias, EKG, CAD, CHG, Meditech, nursing and CNA | 21 | | orientation, CPR, and ACLS; while employed with the hospital, | 22 | | she also taught courses on EKG, arrhythmias, and the principles | 23 | | of disease at Joliet Junior College for many years; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Sue Trizna was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau | 2 | | International Honor Society of Nursing and of the American | 3 | | Association of Critical Care Nurses; and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Sue Trizna was an avid reader and music lover and | 5 | | kept her mind sharp with crossword, Sudoku, and jigsaw puzzles; | 6 | | she closely followed news and politics and loved history; she | 7 | | liked watching the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Blackhawks, | 8 | | NASCAR, and open wheel racing; she loved traveling with | 9 | | friends, especially to oceanside destinations; her strength, | 10 | | selflessness, and kindness were inspiring; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Sue Trizna was preceded in death by her father; | 12 | | her sister, Bette J. Cipolle; and her aunt, Roberta Hussey; and
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Sue Trizna is survived by her children, Rebecca L. | 14 | | Trizna and Michael K. (Kathleen Kemp) Trizna; her brothers, Dr. | 15 | | Robert J. (Dr. Susan Benigni) Cipolle and Dr. Mark D. (Victoria | 16 | | Sabella) Cipolle; her nieces and nephews, Dr. Christina L. | 17 | | Cipolle (Daniel McManus), Anthony J. (Alexandra Notman) | 18 | | Cipolle, Katherine E. Cipolle, Parker D. Cipolle, Natalie V. | 19 | | (Grant, III) Nunn, and Olivia S. Cipolle; her great-nephews, | 20 | | Robert and Michael McManus and Grant Nunn, IV; her cousins; and | 21 | | her dear friends, including the YaYas and David Bourg; | 22 | | therefore, be it
