SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

410 ILCS 625/3.09 new

Amends the Food Handling Regulation Enforcement Act. Provides that a food service establishment may not permit employees to use latex gloves in the preparation and handling of food. Provides that, to encourage compliance, a food service establishment shall receive a notification of warning for the first violation.

AN ACT concerning health.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Food Handling Regulation Enforcement Act is amended by adding Section 3.09 as follows:

(410 ILCS 625/3.09 new)

Sec. 3.09. Use of latex gloves prohibited.

(a) A food service establishment may not permit employees to use latex gloves in the preparation and handling of food.

(b) To encourage compliance, a food service establishment shall receive a notification of warning for the first violation of this Section.
