105 ILCS 5/10-20.73 new
105 ILCS 5/34-18.67 new
    Amends the School Code. Provides that a school board may allow the motto "In God We Trust" to be displayed in a conspicuous location inside or outside each school building.

1     AN ACT concerning education.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
5 10-20.73 and 34-18.67 as follows:

6     (105 ILCS 5/10-20.73 new)
7     Sec. 10-20.73. "In God We Trust" display. A school board
8 may allow the motto "In God We Trust" to be displayed in a
9 conspicuous location inside or outside each school building.
10 Nothing in this Section shall be construed to require a school
11 district to display the motto "In God We Trust" inside or
12 outside each school building.

13     (105 ILCS 5/34-18.67 new)
14     Sec. 34-18.67. "In God We Trust" display. The board may
15 allow the motto "In God We Trust" to be displayed in a
16 conspicuous location inside or outside each school building.
17 Nothing in this Section shall be construed to require the
18 school district to display the motto "In God We Trust" inside
19 or outside each school building.
