| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4414 by replacing | 3 | | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

of cameras along expressways and the State highway | 13 | | system in the counties of Boone, Bureau, Champaign, Cook, | 14 | | DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Henry, Kane, Kendall, Lake, LaSalle, | 15 | | Macon, Madison, McHenry, Morgan, Peoria, Sangamon, St. Clair, | 16 | | Will, and Winnebago Cook County . |

| 1 | | (b) Images from the cameras may be used by any municipal | 2 | | police department, county sheriff's office, State Police | 3 | | officer, or other law enforcement agency with jurisdiction | 4 | | over the expressway in Cook County in the investigation of any | 5 | | violent offenses, including, but not limited to, offenses | 6 | | offense involving the use of a firearm and vehicular | 7 | | hijacking, and to detect expressway hazards. Images from the | 8 | | cameras shall not be used to enforce petty offenses. Images | 9 | | from the cameras may be used
by any law enforcement agency | 10 | | conducting an active law
enforcement investigation involving a | 11 | | violent offense. | 12 | | (c) Subject to appropriation, any funds needed to conduct | 13 | | the program for use on expressways under the jurisdiction of | 14 | | the Department of Transportation shall be taken from the Road | 15 | | Fund. Any funds needed to conduct the program for use on | 16 | | expressways under the jurisdiction of the Illinois State Toll | 17 | | Highway Authority shall be paid for by funds from the Illinois | 18 | | State Tollway Highway Authority. | 19 | | (d) As used in this Section, "expressway" has the meaning | 20 | | provided in Section 1-119.3 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
