AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4706

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4706 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The University of Illinois Hospital Act is
5amended by adding Section 8g as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 330/8g new)
7    Sec. 8g. Cesarean section reporting.
8    (a) The University of Illinois Hospital shall record and
9internally report the NTSV cesarean birth rate for each
10obstetrician-gynecologist who works at the University of
11Illinois Hospital every 6 months. The University of Illinois
12Hospital shall submit a copy of this report annually and upon
13request to the Department of Public Health with the names of
14the providers redacted.
15    (b) As used in this Section, "NTSV cesarean birth rate"
16means the proportion of live babies born at or beyond 37 weeks

1gestation to women in their first pregnancy, that are
2singleton (no twins or beyond) and in the vertex presentation
3(no breech or transverse positions), via cesarean birth.
4    (c) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2030.
 
5    Section 10. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by
6adding Section 6.33 as follows:
 
7    (210 ILCS 85/6.33 new)
8    Sec. 6.33. Cesarean section reporting.
9    (a) A hospital shall record and internally report the NTSV
10cesarean birth rate for each obstetrician-gynecologist who
11works at the hospital every 6 months. The hospital shall
12submit a copy of this report annually and upon request to the
13Department of Public Health with the names of the providers
14redacted.
