SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/34-18.78 new

    Amends the School Code. Provides that a school board shall pay a minimum wage of at least $20 per hour by 2025 for all public school employees, including, but not limited to, custodians, support staff, and substitute teachers.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Sections
510-20.83 and 34-18.78 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/10-20.83 new)
7    Sec. 10-20.83. Minimum wage for public school employee. A
8school board shall pay a minimum wage of at least $20 per hour
9by 2025 for all public school employees, including, but not
10limited to, custodians, support staff, and substitute
11teachers.
