HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Roger
4"Lynn" Dameron of Fairbury, who passed away on October 27,
52021; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lynn Dameron was a Fairbury native who was raised
7in Fairbury and graduated from Fairbury-Cropsey High School;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lynn Dameron fell in love with and married his
10high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Judith Ann
11Ahring, on December 17, 1966 in Fairbury; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lynn Dameron and his wife raised two children,
13Heather and Chris, in Fairbury; he was an integral part of
14Fairbury's business community as owner and operator of Dameron
15Plumbing and Indian Creek Realty; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lynn Dameron loved his community; he was devoted
17to Fairbury and to making sure it continues to be a wonderful
18place to live, work, and raise a family; he served first with
19the Fairbury Jaycees and then in city government; he was an
20alderman for 14 years and the mayor for 12 years; he was
21instrumental in securing the funds for the new city hall

1building, the North Park, and a fire engine; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Lynn Dameron was active in the Boy Scouts of
3America for over 50 years as an Eagle Scout, troop leader, and
4scoutmaster; he helped build the Cache Lake Scout Camp in
5Ontario, Canada; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lynn Dameron was a beloved husband, dad, papa,
7brother, and friend and will be dearly missed by those who knew
8him; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we mourn the passing of Roger "Lynn" Dameron and join the
12Fairbury community in celebrating the life and spirit of one
13of its favorite sons; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to Lynn Dameron's family with our sincere
16condolences for his passing.
