HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize the Springfield High School show choir, IN Session, on the occasion of its achievements during the past season; and

WHEREAS, The IN Session is an energetic show choir comprised of 26 devoted singers/dancers; the choir is backed by the Springfield High School show choir band, Executive Sound, and eight hardworking crew members; and

WHEREAS, IN Session is an extracurricular activity, with members meeting two nights a week for two hours; and

WHEREAS, IN Session has received numerous awards during its competition season; the choir was third runner-up in Prep Division at the Mt. Zion Midwest Show Choir Invitational; it was named grand champion in 3A and first runner-up overall at the Keokuk Power City Classic Invitational in Iowa as well as winning Best Female Soloist in a Show; the choir won first runner-up in the 4A Division at the Central Lee Central Connections Invitational in Iowa; it was proclaimed grand champion at the Chatham-Glenwood The Event Invitational along with winning Best Vocal Sound, Best Choreography, and Best Combo in the Group Division; the choir was declared grand champion in the Class A Division at the Herscher Swing & Sing Invitational; and

WHEREAS, This year, IN Session will have competed locally at Mt. Zion and Chatham and out-of-state at Keokuk and Central Lee, both in Iowa, before concluding its 2022 season at the Herscher Swing & Sing competition; and

WHEREAS, IN Session is under the direction of and choreographed by Steven L. Robinson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the Springfield High School show choir, IN Session, for its achievements during the past season and wish its members continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to all members of IN Session and Director Steven L. Robinson as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
